I have been sooo busy for the month of March, attending 21st birthday parties every weekend. Looks like June was a really busy busy month for all the parents. I celebrated not 1, not 2, but 6 birthdays! omg i am broke already.Birthdays Back to Back So on Friday, rox had her party with awesome home cooked food (by her loving and super cool dad) plus the most delicious cake EVARR.   this is a 2-tiered Baileys and Hazelnut cake with strawberries! was in hazelnut or was it nutella? but it had crunchy bits inside and was super delish! ok dont tell anyone this...but i actually preferred Rox's 2nd cake. Yes she had 2!  it was an AGAR AGAR CAKE!!!!! who in the right mind would prefer the baileys over your neighbourhood agar agar right.i feel like a little kid all over again when im eating it. lol. love eating eat layer by layer, like with rainbow kueh.  i love rox's dress a lot! I even offered to buy it from her if she decides to sell it! am jealous! ended the night with a game of Taboo, tried curling my hair but ended up burning my hand and whack fringe, then washed it down with some Thai Disco! The performers are so good. i wish i knew the lyrics to the songs cuz i would totally sing along with them. haha. Had a taste of Sam's driving too, i was very scared! :p But ever since Smelly banged up his car, twice, with me inside, ive been absolutely terrified of beginner drivers. Paranoia. i keep thinking the side of the car is gonna crash into something.     Happy Birthday Poxy Error! LUBZZZZZ x 10. Hope you love the necklace many many. Having a Blue Box Syndrome because of rox's necklace. it's so pretty... I remember telling myself, back when i was 20, that when i turned 21, i would buy myself something to mark my independence. i actually forgot about it... you know it's not about possession, it's being able to buy it for yourself. This is why Burger King's new buger is called Topsy Turvy - It's because the burger will mindf you.Burger King Topsy Turvy  "Saucy Top" imo, they should rename it to "soggy top". but yes, it was very saucy. ketchup and watered down mayo. "Crunchy Bottom" The thing that drew me to the burger were the fried onions AKA the aforementioned crunchy top. See the picture - looks damn shiok for onion lovers like me. Its practically spilling over. mmm.. a nice whole bed of crunchy fried onions for me to sink my teeth into.....when you get the burger however..this is all that goes through your mind: WHERE SIA the crunchy top?? I dont really eat at BK too often, but my final verdict on this is that this burger.... machiam like a burger with fried onion on top only lor. This kind of fried onion.  Anyhow, here's a really interesting video. The Whopper Freakout - an advertising campaign from Burger King with real people, real reactions. Burger King did this experiment with its consumers and lied to them that they were discontinuing their Whopper. The reactions from their customers are priceless! Hmm, ok let me try and share the more interesting bits..like how i planned it in about 1 week because i had absolutely no idea what to do and was drowning in mid-term tests. Went shopping at Ikea for candles and glassware, shopping at supermarkets for chichi looking biscuits and chocolates, buying ribbon and random pretty looking things to decorate the room...and wham bam alakazam it was already the 6th of March and i gave myself the day off from school. :DFinally it's my 21st Birthday post! Checked into Fairmont Hotel in the afternoon with Nic (here on referred to as smelly). Fairmont Hotel is the hotel connected to Raffles City Shopping Centre and is SUPER convenient okkk. why people like to have their birthdays at far flung places man! Hahha ok just kidding. Anyway Fairmont Hotel is an AWESOME, awesome hotel. Perhaps lesser-known but the service was great. I checked out in 3 mins which is light speed and during the evening the staff come around every room to ask if we need anything. Room service was prompt and the staff are realyl polite. Fairmont is so sophisticated and they pay attention to detail, right down to the complementary mineral water in your room. And i love how they have their insignia on everything. posh!   dorky pic of me for good measure. nic who helped me tons, chauffeuring me everywhere etcetc. planning is tiring man. I had to lug my speakers which is attached to a mega huge woofer there and everything, only to find out the room actually had a CD player. -_- smelly and i went for an afternoon swim before grabbing dinner and rushing around trying to prepare everything.     FOOD!    My first guests arrive. Jilyn and Chris were the first to arrive to be exact! The benefit of arriving early is that you get light up rings heehe. yes i actually had a game. It was treasure hunt and only 5 of them got to play it hahah!     xiaowei playing with the candles, and i got hot wax on my finger! :( and then more and more people started to come..suddenly the room was swimming with people people and more people!       and then the room got too crowded so some ppl migrated to the toilet. The toilet was as big as a room so we got quite comfortable there!    cand, off canoodling with somebody  Time to cut the birthday cake!  cake barer!  This is one of my life's mantra, if there ain't no cake, it ain't a party! Special occasions never feel special unless there's a cake. and this is the funny thing about the cake, we randomly bought one from one of the pastry shops at Raffles City, i think it was Epidor. Anyway i wanted lots of candles on my cake, 21 small ones to be exact, not 2 big ones and 1 small one. The cashier said we had to pay $1 for every 10 small candles which was ok, except that she was pretty rude about it... typical old auntie syndrome. "oh you want so many candle ah, must pay $2 more. nag nag nag nag grumble nag grumble grumble"    everyone gets a goodie bag to bring home!  personalized with name on it too ok. dont mess.     After-party. ok not after-party, i mean more like after THE party....  I HAD TO CLEAN THE WHOLE PLACE UP BY MYSELF!!!!!!! in retrospec, should have just left everything there for the hotel staff to handle.   amelia hung around for a while and that was smelly's supper! 2 cheese burgers, 1 chicken burger, 1 6 piece nugget, 4 piece mcwings, large fries and iced tea. and out of everything, i only ate the ONE CHEESE BURGER. omg smelly has a bottomless pit for his stomach. Joanne Peh's magic boobs It seems that Joanne Peh has caused quite a stir when she appeared on a Channel 8 cooking program dressed in a low-cut dress with her boobs looking really big. Here are some other parts that i found absolutely hilarious. Anyway can you all tell the difference between the photos? my sister insists that she cannot tell the difference between the photo quality of a DSLR and a normal digicam. no way right.  hotlinked from facebook  uploaded to Flickr   jump shot pass and fail  did this by vigorous shaking my camera up and down while on super slow shutter speed. i know it is probably so dumb to professional photographers but i LOVE these light streaks and neon bursts. they look so ethereal and mesmerizing.....i can stare at them the whole day. i think they inspire me.  craziness ensued. This is the year of the 21st's.21st 21st 21st 21st All the '88 babies, even though we are paper starved and rabidly clawing at each other in school, among everything else...i still think the '88 batch is the best. Javier's birthday, hope you like the shirt!    everybody is really amused with this photo so i will just show it to you all hahah. this was when javier was 90% drunk, after headbutting roxy's lip which started to bleed and he fell on his head so his friend is putting a cold can to his head and i was taking ice for rox's bloody lip after eating ONE, ONE jelly shot.       i suck at guitar hero!! phychomotor skills, HELP!  This is supposed to be an "SAJC" shot, but like...i dont know half the people there and i feel little affiliation to sajc what so ever... maybe it's because spent my JC life locked up in the dance studio but im not saying its a bad thing. the only thing i liked about it, in retrospect, was sajc dance. oh yes please check out Javier's birthday cake, its got pink roses and green orchids on it. chio'er than mine can. unfair... apart from the cake, javier had the quintessential bachorlor party... i needed to pee halfway through the night but couldnt because people were taking turns puking and were HOGGING THE TOILET. Conspiracy! when i left at 3am, there were 4 grown men lying in javier's driveway, concussed and/or semi-conscious from consuming massive amounts of alcohol. then i heard some guy say "oh my god did he just turn over and puke?" treaded out really carefully... Firstly, thanks to all who came :) sorry there weren't any games or anything vaguely interesting to do except watch the tv and check out the really big bathroom. but all i wanted was for all my close friends to be with me on my birthday so glad you all made it :) like rox and i always talk about..it's this group of friends that are friends for life. they are the people that will be there no matter what.This was some of my 21st i have like hundreds of photos and i dont know where to start. i think i will get too lazy to blog about it!!!!! or i may blog about it bit by bit for the rest of the year hahah. if your face appears below you are VIP!!!! plus all the kids that are overseas that said they were there in spirit!       and here is a bit more...random photos.

sometimes it is so hard to explain the feelings that you have. Perhaps if we could have turned back time, we would have walked past each other then and find each other now. Or with our present knowledge we could have rectified past wrong. It is a see-saw of up and downs, right now, tomorrow, tonight. It is like a drop of blood in a pool of cold water; like the skin of an orange. we are like lost souls trying to find meaning in our existence and togetherness. we see through each other, you walk, i run. we never find out if we are coming or going.coming or going I know I am a fool, hoping dirt and glory are both a kind of luminous paint; the humiliations and exaltations that light us up. I see like a bug, everything too large, the pressure of infinity hammering at my head. But how else to live, vertical that I am, pressed down and pressing up simultaneously? I feel compelled to blog. my neck hurts from typing another report.typically weird Yesterday during our project meeting i discovered that the Candypulp layout is screwed on FireFox and IE in different ways. -_- hai, who is an LJ html expert and wants to earn some money? (Contact me) So anyway, one of my grp members went "oh you own a blogshop...so typical.." oh my, i nearly keeled over, spat out my half eaten tako-pachi. Typical... somebody called me TYPICAL. firstly, it is not typical because Candypulp started in 2005. we are not one of those teeny boopers trying to jump onto the bandwagon with substandard products into the saturated market that is dripping from its pores. Candypulp was featured in URBAN (ST), we have products at Haji Lane and i think it's coming out in Smitten. (!!!!) defensive. Oh well actually you know what, i think i have mellowed over the years...while reading all the sweet notes my darling secondary school friends wrote for me for my 21st birthday, a lot of them mentioned in their cards, or implied in one way or another, that i was weird. Weird in a good way (i think haha) Yes, i was always to weird one to play with lizards and toads and be... weird. somehow i always set myself out to be different from everyone else. Cheryl also says i ate tomatoes in class (?) HMM. ok that one, i dont quite remember, but now it IS weird having someone call you 'typical'. shall leave you with a photo..the more i stare at it, the weirder i think i look.  Labels: huh...
Dinner at Mykii Dinner at Mykii (mi-kai) at Holland V where Marmalade Pantry used to be (!!!)  Mikii is supposed to be Greek but they 'singapore-fied' it so you suddenly had Laksa Pesto and other weird greek and singaporean mish-mash items. Good or bad? HMMM...well i was definitely looking forward to something more authentic rather than fusion food. the decor reminds me of Santorini, Greece. (gosh, totally want to go there some day.) apparently the name is derrived from "mykonos" which is also in Greece so i guess its the same.  the trademark white buildings with blue topped caps framed by the ocean... everybody ahhhh now  The pot-roasted chicken which all of us ordered except Weiliang who had the prawn (Thai-style). It was...ok. The menu was pretty limited and this sounded the most appealing.  Weiliang's dessert: aloe vera + apple crumble + vanilla ice cream. Ok now this was delicious. The next time i come to Mikii it will be for their desserts and drinks, not their main courses. We ordered an advocado drink as well and if you're an advocado lover that drink is to die for. luscious, thick avocado...YUMYUM. The only gripe i have about it was that they threw random pieces of slaughtered marshmallows in there which ruined the taste.  why sia. why put marshmallows in there?   ambience was alright. why were we sitting at the toilet end...! you get a discount for using the UOB Credit Card. Mains are around $16 each, Drinks are $8, desserts are...i cant remember.  Amelia for Amelia! yes we finally passed amelia her over-due birthday present. she took of her FAMILY HEIRLOOM to wear this.    the food took quite a while to come. It took 'quite a while' till the extent that we were so bored i whipped out my highlighters and we started doodling on our place mats.  weiliang's final piece.

i have 2 mid terms later, im exploding from stressing out over it! How did i end up with a semester that has SIX presentations! That is impossible for FASS. After i'm done with the midterms, i get to take a litttttttllee break before i have 2 reports due and a presentation to prepare. my life is dismal...A quick break i will be very happy after the tests are over! You Learn Something New Everyday If i had know i would have NEVER bought your lousy printer. this is the last time i buy an Epson printer and i will also tell everyone not to buy Epson printers. I mean, what kind of company uses such a back-handed method to CORECE consumers to buy their ink? If i want to buy 3rd party ink i will jolly well buy 3rd party ink. How dare these companiyes use such chips? I must also add, that even thought Epson claims they have cheap ink cartriges, each cartridge only contains 17ml of ink which runs out SUPER FAST.
